Privacy policy

Last updated: 1 November 2026

This policy explains what personal data Commotion Games collects when you visit this website, why, and what rights you have. The short version: we don't run accounts, newsletters, ads or analytics on this site, so we collect very little.

1. Who we are

This website is run by [legal company name], [registered address], trading as Commotion Games. We are the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at hello@commotiongames.com.

2. What we collect

Server logs. When you load a page, our hosting provider, [hosting provider], automatically records technical data such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is needed to deliver the site and keep it secure. Logs are kept for [retention period, e.g. 30 days].

Emails you send us. If you email us, for example with a publishing pitch, we receive your email address, name and whatever you include. We use it only to reply and handle your request, and delete it when it's no longer needed.

Nothing else. We don't use analytics, advertising trackers or social media pixels, and we don't sell or share your data.

3. Third-party services

This site loads its fonts from Google Fonts. When it does, your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address. See Google's privacy policy.

Links to stores and social platforms, such as Steam, Bluesky, YouTube and Discord, take you to sites with their own privacy policies.

4. Legal basis

We process server logs on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a secure website, and emails on the basis of our legitimate interest in replying to you, or to take steps before entering into an agreement if you're pitching a game.

5. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, object to its processing, or receive a copy of it. Email hello@commotiongames.com and we'll reply within one month. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

6. Changes

If we change how we handle data, for example by adding analytics, we'll update this page and the date at the top. See also our cookie policy.
